WP was hands down the best mobile OS ever made. But without the app ecosystem it wasn't enough. The only thing that could have saved it was native compatibility with Google Services and Google obviously wasn't going to do that.

You blew ARM's inherent efficiency & performance advantages vs x86 COMPLETELY out the damn window... 🤦😑 Ask any legitimate CPU designer and they'll tell you that ISA is next to irrelevant when it comes to maximizing performance and even efficiency in the modern era. Modern x86 is not old x86. Thanks to the addition of microcode it operates more like a RISC architecture than it does old school CISC. And no mention of the upcoming x86 competition is ridiculous... AMD's Strix Point & Strix Halo are going to be WAAAAAAY more performance competitive with Apple up and down the chip stack than ANYTHING Qualcomm will launch in years. 🤷

The Vision Pro, is another Mac Pro project that will fail. It is seriously overpriced for the perceived value, compared to other headsets. And developers are not interested so there will be minimal Apps that take advantage of the headsets.

I just don't get putting all of that power and the M-series chip and "Pros" can't even choose to run Mac OS on it. Obviously MacOS isn't optimized for touch but mice and keyboards connect just fine and you have people using iPads as dedicated displays, why not give more options? Because some boomer might intentionally load MacOS on an iPad and then complain that it doesn't "just work". Also, a lot of Apple products haven't "just worked" in a long time so no one would be surprised.

Cool project. I find the Magic Keyboard is great how it is. Using them for almost 10 years, before it had Touch ID, and never once felt it needed an improvement. Apple doesn’t get everything right but this accessory they did.

That’s odd, my Apple SuperDrive works fine on my M2 Mac Studio and I use it basically every day.

For ImageOptim, this function exists in macOS already, just right-click on the image, go to "Quick actions..." and select "Convert Image..." and uncheck "Preserve metadata"

Man, this is the single best video on the new iPad. You highlighted everything wrong with the iPad while proving that you understand both its purpose and its potential, while avoiding parroting the same talking points that I've been hearing over and over in every video since the iPad's release. Kudos. You, and whoever else worked on this video (I'm not familiar with your team here) did a stellar job. You seemed interested in the viewers' take on the iPad, so here's mine: For me, even after seeing all the reviews, both negative and positive, I will be purchasing the new iPad Pro. That is because I understand the device for what it is (I don't drink the Apple kool-aid. I've been an Apple hater for years, this device is an exception in my eyes), and I do not need to replace a laptop or other device. I just want a good, comfortable device for taking notes in my college classes, has good battery life, and has an exceptional and color accurate screen for editing my photos (I'm a photographer). I'm well aware of all the limitations of an iPad (I've experienced MacOS, Windows, Linux, Android, iOS, etc.) and do not need it to replace any of my devices, but I see that this device may fulfill some needs/tasks that my other devices will not.

The issue with Apple's Image Playground feature for some right now is that Apple has intentionally limited the types/styles of images it can generate to avoid the kinds of problems other AI Art generators have had such as creating Fake Celeb nudes, other questionable sexual and nonsexual content, and illegal images.They likely will expand the types/styles of images it can create as time goes by but keep it constrained enough so as not to cross lines that would cause a PR nightmare or violate laws on certain prohibited content in countries where this feature is available. There will always be other sources for AI generated art that are less constrained if anyone is looking for more photorealistic AI art for a project being done on their iPhone or iPad. For some though, what Apple is offering out of the box just might be good enough for certain cases, especially for kids.

There are a number of reasons why someone might want to hide apps on their iPhone that are not sketchy. Yes, one could use this to hide hook-up apps used to cheat like Grinder from your spouse/S.O. but there are less sketchy reasons to hide apps. One is for anyone "in the closet" who wishes to keep that a secret by hiding apps that might out them if seen on their phone. Another, is political dissidents in certain countries, as they can hide apps that might give away they are political activism. Another use might be by a parent who wants to be able to hand their phone to a kids but be secure knowing the kid can't open apps unsuitable for them or mess with certain apps that they shouldn't be messing with. Finally, a big one would be by victims of domestic abuse who have apps on their phone that would give away their plans to leave their abusive spouse/S.O. so being able to hide these apps would help in such a circumstance.

Chiming in three years later to notice that I left this video unfinished from the last time I tuned in, so I started over. Just got a used pair of blue AirPods Max for like $255 plus tax from someone on eBay who I don’t care to bother about why they were selling them. I’m loving them very much. Excellent condition, despite having to rename them on pairing, and not having the original box, the setup was a breeze though. I also have a pair of Sony WH-1000XM4s, and unlike these, they were purchased new. Within a year or two, the hinge on the right ear cup snapped in half, and now they’re held together with a huge mess of duct tape and some bent wire coathanger I formed into a support frame. Not the best vote of confidence, and not the first time I’ve had plastic Sony cans break after a while, regardless of price.

Apple is all about the profit, if they would give us iPad that can replace Mac, the Mac would lose sense and sales would be dropped and income accordingly. They will always keep them separately, the iPad will never replace Mac and visa versa.
